Laurence Guinness

Laurence Guinness is a producer who has worked mainly in Japanese anime films and television series. Some of his more notable anime projects include "Street Fighter II: V," "Perfect Blue," and "Ghost in the Shell." "Street Fighter II: V" was a series based on the video game Street Fighter II, that follows the adventures of a group of martial arts fighters. The "Ghost in the Shell" film Guinness worked on was part of a larger franchise of video games, manga comics, and an animated series about an cyborg police agent and his sidekick who seek to defeat a computer hacker. "Perfect Blue" was more of a psychological thriller anime film, directed by Satoshi Kon, based on a novel about a pop singer turned actress who is being stalked. Guinness has also produced live-action films, such as the independent British vampire thriller "Razor Blade Smile," written and directed by Jake West, about a vampire woman with a vendetta against the Illuminati secret society. In a dramatic change of genre, Guinness also co-produced the straight-to-video "Raising Tennis Aces: The Williams Story," which chronicles the philosophies and training of the pro-tennis playing Williams sisters by their father, Richard Williams.
