A rogue FBI agent takes Dr Ellen Sanders hostage after she is chosen to operate on the president, threatening to kill her and her family unless she assassinates him during the surgery.

Duncan locks the Sanders family in a room for the day while he and his team head to New York to eliminate the sniper team targeting President Kincaid.

When Ellen disobeys Duncan's orders and stalls the attempt to assassinate the President during surgery, he threatens to take the life of a member of her family. Ellen begins to realise that there is no one she can trust.

Ellen and Brian decide they won't be able to escape until they've taken Duncan down, so Ellen sneaks away to see a friend of her father's who has previously helped her to solve severe problems in her life.

Brian goes to the police to expose Duncan and his team, but decides against it after Burton turns up and shows him evidence of Ellen and Duncan getting close.

Ellen reveals to Duncan that she will not kill the President. However, she insists she will help him to get the bone marrow he needs to save his wife, as long as he gives her something in return - a promise to protect her children.
