In rapid succession, the Walker family experience the thrill of seeing new life come into the world and the terror of loss when one of their own has a life-threatening health crisis. Rebecca turns to her father for help when she discovers some information that could destroy the family business and send one of the Walkers to prison, and Kitty realises Robert has lied to her.

Kitty finds out that somebody suppressed her magazine interview. Rebecca goes to see her father, leaving Justin very worried about her. Meanwhile, Nora visits Ryan and invites him to come to stay at her house and meet the rest of the family, but is he serious about accepting her offer?

Marc Wilson, the president of Wexley University, offers Kitty a job as a principal. Meanwhile, Tommy goes behind Holly's back with Rebecca on his trail, and Nora and Sarah surprise Kitty with a baby shower.

Kevin and Justin take Tommy on a getaway to help him make a decision about his legal future. Meanwhile, Kitty and Evan retreat to Nora's to get acquainted with her new half brother, while Robert recovers.

Kitty's feelings of joy at holding her newborn son are shattered when she hears that Robert has had a heart attack. She rushes to his side as he is wheeled away to the operating theatre for life-saving surgery. Elsewhere, Scotty takes an emotional Kevin to see his new nephew, and Holly confronts Tommy in his office just as he is having second thoughts about forcing her out of the company.
