Cutter and the team are still reeling from Stephen's death when an anomaly opens in the British Museum, and a terrifying creature that resembles an Egyptian god emerges. The team must work with new Head of Security Captain Becker and Egyptologist Sarah Page to track down the creature, but are they facing an ancient curse as well?

When Christine Johnson and the military invade the ARC, the team are forced to flee. They take refuge in an abandoned 1930s cabin in the woods, but it is not long before danger appears in the form of vicious Pliocene-era phorusrhacids or `terror birds'. Finding themselves besieged by the creatures, the team have nothing but their ingenuity and their bare hands to help them survive.

The Old Ones have arrived and are intent on taking over the world by force. Cutler has other plans, but when they go awry, his revenge on his own kind is plotted. Annie is conflicted and upset as she comes to terms with the fact that, in order to save the world, she's been tasked with the most difficult decision of her afterlife. Tom and Hal have their own plan to destroy the vampires, but when Mr Snow (Mark Gatiss), the vampire leader, visits Hal he demonstrates the power he holds over our hero.
