Millard Lampell

Millard Lampell's screenwriting shaped many films over the course of his Hollywood career. In 1940, he formed the Almanac Singers with Pete Seeger, Woody Guthrie and Lee Hays. He moved to New York City. He was nominated for a BAFTA Award for "Chance Meeting" in 1959. After earning this award, Lampell penned a script for "The Idol" (1966) with Jennifer Jones. Lampell last produced "The Wall" (CBS, 1981-82). Lampell passed away in October 1997 at the age of 78.
