Philippe Clay

Philippe Clay was an actor with a strong presence in film throughout his Hollywood career. Clay began his acting career with roles in such films as "French Can-Can" (1955), the James Stewart comedy adaptation "Bell, Book and Candle" (1958) and the Martine Carol comedy "Nathalie Agent Secret" (1960). He also appeared in the comedy "Pas Folle la Guepe" (1972) with Francoise Rasay. He continued to work steadily in film throughout the seventies and the nineties, appearing in the fantasy "Shanks" (1974) with Marcel Marceauthe comedy "Deux heures moins le quart avant Jesus Christ" (1982) with Coluche and "Un Bon petit diable" (1983). He also appeared in "Krim" (1995). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in "Lautrec" (1998) and "Les Cachetonneurs" (1999). He also had a part in the TV miniseries "The Count of Monte Cristo" (1998-99). Most recently, Clay acted in "Tuvalu" (2001).
