Mr Ward assigns every student to a new group as part of a class assignment, and when Addie is put in the popular group, her status in the school is improved, but it might cause a rift between her and Geena.

After being overshadowed by her popular brother, Addie sets out to publish an article in the school paper.

Addie has to choose between Geena and Maris when the two design new cheerleader uniforms, but Addie doesn't want to be accused of choosing Geena just because she's her best friend, and this causes tension in their friendship.
