Russ Bender

Russ Bender was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Bender's early acting career consisted of roles in various films, such as the Peter Graves sci-fi feature "It Conquered the World" (1956), "Dragstrip Girl" (1957) with Fay Spain and the Steve Terrell horror film "Invasion of the Saucer Men" (1957). He also appeared in the sci-fi picture "The Amazing Colossal Man" (1957) with Glenn Langan and the Anne Neyland drama "Motorcycle Gang" (1957). His passion for acting continued to his roles in projects like the Richard Boone horror feature "I Bury the Living" (1958), the Mike Connors war "Suicide Battalion" (1958) and the horror movie "War of the Colossal Beast" (1958) with Sally Fraser. He also appeared in "No Name on the Bullet" (1959) with Audie Murphy. Nearing the end of his career, he tackled roles in "That Touch of Mink" (1962) with Cary Grant, the crime flick "Air Patrol" (1962) with Willard Parker and "A Gathering of Eagles" (1963). He also appeared in the Victor Buono crime picture "The Strangler" (1964) and the musical comedy "Wild on the Beach" (1965) with Frankie Randall. Bender was most recently credited in "Stingray" (1978). Bender passed away in August 1969 at the age of 59.
