Jax grows weary of the increasing lawlessness of the motorcycle club he is involved with. His life becomes more unstable when he discovers his late father's true vision for the Sons of Anarchy, and his crank-addicted ex-wife gives birth to his son.

Ross comes back from China with his new girlfriend Julie, and Rachel has a really hard time dealing with it. She winds up sleeping with Paolo and hates herself for it. Joey persuades her to tell Ross how she feels, but when Ross tells her he is in love with Julie, she can't bring herself to do it.

The gang heads to Barbados for a palaeontology convention where Ross is the keynote speaker. Rachel harbours steamy thoughts about Joey, and Mike prepares to propose to Phoebe.
