In Mexico, Nick travels from Los Mochis in Sinaloa to Creel in Chihuahua. Along the way, he witnesses astonishing feats of railway engineering, breathtaking landscapes, and remarkable historic sites.

Travelling north from Trondheim during his adventure through Norway, Nick stays for a night on the River Namsen, takes a helicopter ride, meets a reindeer herder and goes swimming in the sea.

From the misty mountains of Sa Pa to the jam-packed city of Hanoi with its five million scooters, Nick discovers a Vietnam of newfound prosperity that is developing fast and thriving.

Over the course of three train journeys, Nick visits Malaysia, a country of contrasts. It is a land of advanced technology, rural simplicity, megacities, virgin rainforest and many different cultures.

Nick's Alaskan journey begins at dawn in snowy Anchorage and takes him north to the USA's coldest city, Fairbanks. Along the way, he takes in the Matanuska Glacier, visits the restoration of a steam locomotive, and trains with a roller derby team.

Starting at Puno on Lake Titicaca, Nick's journey takes him to the highest point on this railway line (and the fourth highest train station in the world) at La Reya. Here, he takes a lightning tour of a local street market.
