This four-part programme explores some of the most iconic gardens that can be found across Britain, uncovering the social and horticultural history of the famous landscapes. Among the gardens featured are Great Dixter, which was made famous by eccentric writer Christopher Lloyd; Stowe, the birthplace of the landscape garden that is home to 36 temples, eight lakes and a dozen avenues; Victorian-era Biddulph Grange; and the Nymans, which is considered a quintessentially English garden.
