Complications

An ER doctor saves a young boy from a drive-by shooting, and when he finds out the boy is still marked for death, he becomes compelled to protect him.

John must find a missing patient, or face the consequences of losing a gang leader's son. Also, in order to keep John clear of their supervisor's suspicions, Gretchen tries to convince a patient to lie about her medical condition.

John visits Antoine's father in prison to try to disentangle himself from his responsibilities with Antoine. Also, Gretchen confronts Hillary's abusive boyfriend, which makes things get out of control.

Gretchen makes expensive arrangements to hide the child, John must ask the gang for money, and Samantha's relationship with John is tested.

When victims of a gang shootout show-up in the ER, John must navigate rival gang members and police. Meanwhile, Gretchen tends to a young woman.

Detective Holden grills John about his suspicious activity, while Gretchen travels to the gang neighbourhood to help a boy.
