After the bodies of two women are found in different locations, Detective Mac Taylor's investigation leads him to a serial killer who imprisons his victims. Grappling with memories of his own wife, Mac follows the killer's trail to a live victim - a woman who cannot move, feel or speak.

In Central Park, a young woman is the victim of a brutal assault, but she has no memory of the incident, leaving Stella and the team to try and piece together the evidence. Elsewhere, Mac and Danny are looking into the death of a drug dealer, but the lack of a bullet hampers the investigation.

When a dressed-up skeleton is found sitting on a tourist bus, Mac and Stella at first believe they are dealing with a gang-related murder or a sick joke. On closer examination the corpse turns out to be that of a teenager who died more than a decade ago.

There's hip-hop horror when an up-and-coming rapper is shot after winning a DJ contest. Mac has a suspect but first he must decipher a voicemail message of some hip-hop scratching. What does it all mean? Meanwhile, Danny's murder investigation leads him to a bizarre restaurant where customers eat food off the bodies of nude young women.

Mac and Danny investigate the death of a construction worker who died 700 feet below Manhattan during an underground explosion. Meanwhile, Stella and Aiden examine the death of a 16-year-old found strangled and floating in a creek.

The employees of a Brooklyn restaurant are the victims of a multiple homicide: three are dead but there are two survivors, and all the victims were tied up with plastic bags over their heads. Mac assigns Danny and Aidan to this tough case, with the clues pointing to it being an inside job.
