Deadline Gallipoli

Three journalists, Charles Bean, Ellis Ashmead Bartlett and Phillip Schuler, arrive at Gallipoli with the invading British and Allied troops in 1915. They are prevented from getting out the true story of an unfolding disaster.

Trench warfare is brutal. The numbers of wounded and dead soldiers continue to mount. The invasion has failed - the Turks have steadfastly defended their lines. General Birdwood's calls for an immediate retreat have been ignored.

The build-up to the August offensive begins. Bean has been wounded in the leg, yet this doesn't stop him from preparing for the oncoming attack. He questions Mehmet about the offensive, and realises this battle is going to be tough.

Bartlett and Murdoch join forces to expose the lies and failures of the campaign. At the cove, things have gone from bad to worse with the onset of winter, with disease and sickness killing as many soldiers as battle.
