Three years after their last adventure, Tai is a high school student, living a peaceful life; moments before Tai is about to play a soccer match, Kuwagamon appears, causing chaos around the city.

All seems lost as Taichi is helpless against the Kuwagamon, until a mysterious figure appears.

After borrowing Agumon's strength, Taichi manages to drive back the Kuwagamon, but Odaiba suffers; he begins to worry about the possibly negative reactions from the public toward Digimon.

A dangerous enemy appears before Taichi and his friends as they survey Odaiba; their Digimon are being defeated one by one, but Taichi is reluctant to do anything.

The reconstruction of Odaiba continues and the Digidestined along with their partner Digimons plan a welcome party for their new friend, Mei.

An infected Orgemon appears in Odaiba; while wanting to prove there are good Digimons, Mimi's decision to ignore Koshiro's non-engagement order causes unexpected consequences; as she's feeling down, Joe, unable to join in the fighting, shows up.
