The House of Atreides is targeted by a rival noble, who plots vengeance against Duke Leto (William Hurt), knowing that controlling the greatest treasure in the Empire ‘spice’ will give them ultimate power. Meanwhile, Leto's son Paul (Alec Newman) has recurring visions about the future.

As Baron Harkonnen completes his takeover of control over the planet Arrakis, Paul and Lady Jessica (Alec Newman, Saskia Reeves) escape into the desert to join the native Fremen in their revolt against the Emperor. The Fremen start to believe that Paul could be their long-prophesied redeemer.

Paul, now known as Muad'Dib among the Fremen, leads them in a desperate revolt to try and seize back control. ‘ The Spice must flow’. To restore peace and stability. Meanwhile, the Baron schemes to use the uprising for his own advancement in the Empire.
