Scott, a comic book artist, disappears and leaves behind 100 superhero comics in San Francisco. Mike discovers one of these comic books and decides to summon the superhero from it, which changes his life forever.

When Mike buys a strange comic book titled `Crying Man', he discovers he has the ability to summon the hero from the comic book into reality by saying the name of the hero out loud.

The Darkest Night
Boastful superhero Black Knight sneaks into a house to acquire a Hero Book but accidentally starts a fire. Mike and Crying Man try to rescue a girl trapped in the house but end up facing a dangerous predicament.

Great GRAVITY
Nick is excited at the prospect of becoming famous through superhero videos, and even crafts a hero costume for himself. X summons a gravity-controlling superhero, Gravity, to seize the comic book Lucky.

Jewel of the Nile
After getting into a fight with Mike, Nick is kidnapped by Dirk O. Mike has to put aside differences and take up the identity of Super Awesome Man to save his friend from Dirk and his Hero Book, Mummy Girl.

When You Hear That Funky Groove, I'm Coming for You!
Nick and Mike try to uncover the true identity of a Reader who is using his Hero Book powers to take revenge on bullies at their school. Dirk O, angry at his defeat to Mike, encounters the enigmatic Krista.

Can You Water My Plants?
The everyday lives of scattered various Hero Books, including Humming Birdman, Mr Justice, and Professor Z, and their Readers are revealed across San Francisco. Dirk O, following Krista, encounters a formidable man.
