Charlie establishes camp and gets his bearings, before discovering he has not bought the pristine virgin rainforest of his dreams. Instead, he owns 100 acres of secondary forest complete with a squatter, a cocaine field and some dangerous neighbours.

Charlie finds himself having spent six months battling squatters and unable to recognise his conservation aims but when his wife Phillipa arrives he becomes reminded of what is important to him.

Nine months on and the project has hit rock-bottom. Unable to secure his land because of a squatter called Elias, Charlie had planned to evict him, until he met his family and his disabled daughter, Heidi.
