`Inside the Operating Theatre' brings a focused look at the busy day surgery unit at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn, Norfolk, offering an intimate view into four busy operating theatres, staffed by a dedicated and highly-skilled team of 75 individuals. These operating teams carry out a huge variety of operations and procedures, from cardiology through to plastic surgery. Day surgery comprises more than 70 percent of surgery operations, which puts it at the heart and soul of the NHS by enabling patients to be in and out in one day.
