Lake District Rescue

The Lake District Mountain Rescue Association help the lost, injured and stricken. A man with a dislocated shoulder is stranded at the popular Eskdale Pools. Miles from the nearest road, the challenge is how to transport the casualty to a hospital.

The team attend a man who's slipped while crossing a stream and is left with a bone sticking out of his arm. And an emergency call has come in for a man with a badly broken leg on Scafell Pike. The first challenge is to locate him before nightfall.

The Coniston Mountain Team are summoned to help a paraglider who has crash-landed at the top of Great How Crag with potentially paralysing neck injuries. Meanwhile, a man has gone missing around the flooded tunnels of a disused quarry at Hodge Close.

Keswick Mountain Rescue team are called to help a fallen scrambler with head and neck injuries who's been precariously lodged at the edge of a waterfall for hours. And a marathon brings its own challenges as temperatures soar towards 30 degrees.
