Murphy's Law

Murphy's target is elusive gangster Dave Callard. Posing as a hit-man, he infiltrates Callard's world and struggles to gain his trust. It's the biggest challenge of his career, but he's making it up as he goes along.

Murphy leaves London and finds himself in the middle of a desolate moor with the wild McGeechan family. Dave Callard has recommended his services to this itinerant, close-knit and dangerous criminal gang.

Murphy's nerve is tested to breaking point by the murder of a fellow undercover officer, and in order to find the killer he must go deeper into London's underworld.

Murphy is about to uncover a major link in Callard's criminal dealings, but his feelings for Ellie are in danger of discrediting the entire operation.

The operation against Callard builds to its conclusion as Murphy is hired to help complete a shipment of Afghan heroin into England. His undercover work could help secure the conviction, but Murphy's presence is demanded elsewhere, as a key prosecution witness in the High Court.

Murphy is trapped in hiding with Callard and Miller, outgunned and outnumbered. Meanwhile, Callard is preparing to disappear to Cuba.
