Asule was born weak and seen as a sign of catastrophe. The Zhenyan tribe he grew up with is eliminated, so he is sent back to his own country, Qingyang Empire, as the Crown Prince.

Asule is chosen to be the hostage held in the Eastland Empire. His power has been suppressed by a mysterious wizard.

Lv Guichen, Yu Ran and Ji Ye meet for the very first time. Princess Huan refuses to marry Lv Guichen but King Baili needs a marriage to enforce the alliance.

Yu Ran knows that Lv Guichen is the crown prince of Qingyang. King Baili gives Yu Ran the royal title as a princess so she can tie the knot with Lv Guichen.

Yu Ran asks Lv Guichen to refuse the marriage and he promises. Meanwhile, she becomes friends with Ji Ye and encourages him to win the contest.

The trio meets after Ji Ye and Yu Ran save Lv Guichen from being assassinated.
