Olga da Polga finds that stopping the Sawdust family from naming her Squeaky proves a real challenge until Karen's school book provides a solution.

Olga makes a friend, Venables the toad. But when Karen reveals her family are planning toad-in-the hole for tea, Olga mounts a rescue mission to hide Venables and keep him safe!

The Sawdusts warm up for the big family fun run. Olga hopes to join in and win a medal, so she seeks help from Graham and Fangio. However, when the family leave, she is worried about having missed out. Everyone returns and puts Olga out for a run. She shocks them with a speedy lap of the enclosure. Karen decides that Olga deserves a medal for having fun in her run.

Olga spots someone new, possibly another tortoise, in the garden. She sends Graham to investigate, and when he returns, he is in love with tortoise Bessy, who would turn out to be a bike helmet. The truth might hurt, so Olga weaves an elaborate tale of space-travelling tortoises to help Graham come to terms with Bessy's disappearance.

Olga, tempted by Fangio the hedgehog and his tales, wants to explore life outside the garden. Olga discovers that Fangio's 'Elysian Fields' are nothing more than a weed-covered wasteland. She decides that staying at home is really very much better!

Olga recalls how she mistook Noel's tail for a tasty snack during their first encounter. Later, Olga's story about some guinea pigtails and a lonely princess helps take Noel's mind off the incident. Noel accepts that his home is now Olga's home too.
