Our Guy in Japan

TV Show · Reality · Travel

Motorcycle racer and truck mechanic Guy Martin travels 2500 miles around Japan to dive into its modern culture and to discover how the country works. He meets a whole range of different characters from across society, and is unafraid to venture into some of Japan's more seedy areas, getting one of the notorious `tebori' tattoos associated with gang culture and investigating a slum that houses the yakuza headquarters. He also meets one of the last remaining swordsmiths in the country, pays his respects at Hiroshima, and learns from a revered elderly engineer who worked on Japan's first nuclear power stations.
