Black Britain: The Gift S2019, E1: The Gift blends grime with surrealism, exploring the theme of identity and the dark external forces that influence and manipulate the genre. Directed by Dumas Haddad.
`Random Acts' is an experimental short film strand dedicated to the arts, with the intention of television programming being created by artists, instead of making programming about artists. The shorts are created to push boundaries, provoke thoughts and to play with the medium of television, with work being showcased by both new talents and established artists. Commissioning is split between the Arts Council England, who look for talented 16-24 year olds, and Catherine Bray, who commissions works from more established artists. Featured artists include Riz Ahmed, Zawe Ashton, Ai Weiwei, Marina Abramovic and many more.
