Silver Spoon

Hachiken moves from the city to go study at Oezo Agricultural High School. He has a hard time adapting, getting lost in the woods after chasing a calf and struggling when he's assigned hard labour.

Hachiken must enrol in one of the school clubs as outlined in the curriculum, and decides to join the equestrian club after being encouraged by his classmate, Aki Mikage.

With most of the students on leave at Golden Week, Hachiken, Mikage and their classmate Ichiro watch a horse race together.

The boys hear about a certain special event to be held at night, and come up with a plan to slip past curfew to get a glimpse of it.

Hachiken learns that the dorms will be closed for summer holiday but does not want to return home; he accepts Mikage's offer to work at her family's farm instead.

Hachiken and Mikage take a break from work and pay a visit to Giga Farm, a massive industrial farm that belongs to their classmate Tamako Inada's family.
