Yi Seong-gye captures a spy in his camp, and sends his officers to Gaegyeong with a message. He allows his youngest son, Bang-won, to travel to Gaegyeong ahead of the group.

Bang-won clashes with Lee In-gyeom, and later ignores his father's orders and runs away from home. Meanwhile, Boon-yi and Ddang-sae escape from Dohwa mansion, and Lee In-gyeom discusses the mysterious symbol with Gil Tae-mi.

Gil Tae-mi arrests Jeong Do-jeon, while his friends petition the King for his freedom. Jeong Do-jeon provides Boon-yi and Ddang-sae with information about their mother. Bang-won makes the decision to study at Sungkyungkwan.
