`Soon Gone: A Windrush Chronicle' is told through a series of monologues by the members of one family across four generations. The story begins with Eunice Daley, who arrives in the United Kingdom as a young woman on the Empire Windrush in 1949, follows her marriage to a fellow immigrant, the racism and changing social attitudes experienced by their children and grandchildren in the 1980s and 1990s, with the story finishing in the present day with great-granddaughter Michaela, who questions her heritage and identity in the wake of the Windrush scandal.
