Tom has to come to terms with the fact that over-confidence lost him the race. He learns his lesson, but it compromises his relationship with his girlfriend Tats.

Tom challenges Noodle to a race and wins, restoring his confidence. Meanwhile, Danny and Steve take on a series of risky jobs to save money for the new equipment that they need.

Monique's coach allows her to believe that he has a crush on her and her diving improves radically. However, she soon realises that it was all a ruse and is heartbroken.

The children hold a surprise party to celebrate Stewie's birthday. When the party is almost discovered, Noodle covers for everyone, making him finally accepted in the group. Meanwhile, Monique makes a decision about her future at the academy.

Robyn, Sandy's old school friend, is now a major soap star, and turns up at the Academy to film an episode. Meanwhile, Tats is concerned about the direction her relationship with Tom is heading.

Stewie's dad Ted is enlisted to help persuade him to specialise in football, but Ted has his own agenda and Stewie finds himself having to decide whether he wants to stay at the Academy at all.
