When a shipping container worth millions is stolen, ex-cop Jimmy Griffin is put on the case to investigate possible insurance fraud.

Jimmy takes on two cases: a motorcycle and car colliding (where it left one driver dead and the other hurt) and a water treatment malfunction case. As he and his staff seek the truth, the cases begin to intertwine in a dangerous fashion.

His relationship with Sally finally on the mend, Jimmy joins his family on vacation, but when a small missing-firearms case presents itself, he accepts it, forcing him to hide it from Sally.

Jimmy Griffin has to cut through the rampant sexism of the force when a female officer files a sexual harassment claim after falling down the stairs.

Jodie goes to a rave without permission, but is caught when the club goes up in flames. The inferno arouses Jimmy's suspicions after finding out who the owner is.

Two kids vanish after a kayaking accident, but their bodies are never found. Their parents are offered a paltry sum from the boating company.
