When the body of a young man is found on a busy street, DCI Jeanette Kilburn and DI Lou Stanley are tasked with finding the killer. The investigation leads Jeanette to psychotherapist Dr Sophia Craven, who has clinically assessed her prime suspect.

A second body is discovered. As the team searches for the hooded figure dumping the bodies, Jeanette begins to focus on the significance of the bodies' locations. Meanwhile, Sophia is haunted by a former client, the enigmatic and troubled Victoria.

Pressure mounts as a third body is dumped outside a private school. Jeanette's dogged pursuit of Lowry comes under fire, but the bond with Sophia grows stronger. Amar fights for his life, and Madeleine finds herself in danger.
