The Loch

Crime drama series. A murder in a small Scottish town sends the community into shock, and local detective Annie Redford is thrust into her first murder case. The initial investigation, headed by DCI Lauren Quigley, produces more questions than answers and another gruesome find raises the stakes further.

Crime drama series. DCI Quigley makes a breakthrough. Following the discovery of a human heart on the shores of the loch, forensic psychologist Blake Albrighton is brought onto the team. Chief Inspector Frank Smilie is sceptical about his theories but, if Albrighton is right, a serial killer is targeting this community.

The police hold an appeal for the safe return of Jonjo. Anxiety is exacerbated by the fact that Jonjo suffers from bipolar disorder and has neglected his medication. DCI Smilie insists his disappearance is not linked to the murder of Niall Swift and dismisses rumours regarding the discovery of a human heart. Blake Albrighton however hijacks the press conference throwing it into chaos by stating the heart and murder of Niall Swift are connected and that they should be looking for a serial killer. Smilie is enraged and wants Albrighton gone.

As Annie becomes more entrenched in the investigation, Alan feels increasingly marginalised and their relationship begins to suffer.

Marr continues to be a person of interest and when a police search warrant is granted, his house and possessions are pulled apart, he finally snaps and goes after Evie.

Mhari is point blank refusing to believe Dessie is the killer. Craig Petrie visited the house the day of the shooting and could have planted the murder weapons. Mhari breaks down and begs her friend to uncover the truth and give her back her son. The unexpected detail that Petrie visited the house coupled with Albrighton's conviction that Petrie was somehow involved, makes Annie wonder if there could be some truth in what Mhari says...
