The Storyteller

Tired of being ridiculed, a child who resemble a hedgehog leaves home to spend years living amongst animals in the forest. He comes to the rescue of a lost king and as a reward asks for the first thing the king sees, which happens to be his daughter.

A brave young man sets off into the world, accompanied by a tinker, hoping to learn what fear is. After facing many dangers without fear, he discovers the truth closer to home.

The Storyteller recounts his own adventure as a wandering beggar who, after swindling the royal cook for a meal, must tell one story each day for a year or face death by boiling. After 364 successful days, he finds himself without a new tale.

A cruel king, after hearing a prophecy about a Luck Child (the seventh son of a seventh son) one day becoming king, tries to have the boy killed.

After a troll kidnaps a young orphan and vows to make her life miserable, a white lion hears her wish and comes to her rescue. She later falls in love with a gardener, who gets cast in a spell by the troll's daughter just before their wedding.

After a witch turns a widowed king's three sons into ravens, their sister vows to break the spell by staying silent for three years, three weeks and three days. Her plan is working until she falls in love with a prince who is the witch's stepson.
