Waking the Dead

A young woman whose father died in a fiery car accident nine years ago refuses to believe that her father's death was an accident. Boyd is intrigued by the woman's insistence that he was murdered and decides to investigate.

The squad investigates a mysterious car accident that occurred nine years before and has everyone baffled. Luckily, some items from the car are recovered and help shed some light on what happened. Later, a DNA test surprises everyone.

While burrowing in the crypt of a Catholic church, workmen uncover the skeletal remains of a young man entombed in concrete. The squad set about to discover the identity of the corpse, which was curiously buried with the accoutrements of certain Catholic rituals, and a strange message in Braille.

The team continue to search for answers and in the process of questioning members of the congregation they uncover some long hidden family secrets. Also, Frankie discovers a possible biological link amongst the former parish priest, Father Stuart, and the first victim.

The team reopen the 25-year-old case of Annie Keel, a woman who was tried and convicted of double murder based solely on her admission of guilt. Boyd is not convinced that the woman is guilty and decides to investigate, although he wonders what would have made her confess. Was she covering for someone?
