Adapted from the book `Bloody April' by historian Peter Hart, this two-part miniseries delves into the story of the Royal Flying Corps' struggle for air superiority over the Western Front in WWI. Scripted film scenes, archive footage and the diaries of RFC veterans from Britain, Canada, Australia and New Zealand reveal the true horrors of the war, as well as what really happened and what it looked like when the Allies took to the air. Through the eyes of the men in the air and the men in the trenches, viewers are shown a new world full of aerial reconnaissance and bombing missions.
