When a new couple - Michael and his pregnant partner, Vidya - move into a flat, they make a gruesome discovery thanks to a leak in the loft. The leak leads them to discover the remains of Melissa Young, a woman who had not been seen for more than two years, in the eaves. Despite seemingly disappearing, Melissa had not been registered as missing and no one had noticed that she was gone. Detective Inspector Len Harper, who is scheduled to retire in a week, is assigned to the case and makes it his mission to uncover the secrets of Melissa's neighbors and not let her death remain unanswered.
