Wicked Revisited

The team looks back at daredevils - Deaf people who live life with no limits, chasing their adrenaline rush. Julian and Kori look back at some archive footage of UK's Deaf Go Karting team and a rock climber with an added adrenaline-fuelled twist.

Julian and Rowan cast a fond eye back on how Deaf people find community - including some traditional, and some not-so-traditional ways. Later, they feature a big occasion for the British Deaf Association (BDA) and a visit from the BDA's Sue Barry.

Rowan and Julian find some wonderful archive clips of Deaf creative expression. This includes some sculpture art, the much loved Wicked Seeds shorts, and Paula Garfield joins in the studio to look back at the Deafinitely Theatre Youth Challenge.

Kori and Julian turn back the clock to the very first Deaf Sports Personality of the Year Awards, and Richard Weinbaum and Jackie Harrison, the event's founders, tell them how things have taken off in the years since.

Julian and Rowan spotlight Kellie Moody from her appearance on the Local Profiles segment. Terry Riley talks about the beginnings of BSL Zone, and John Smith pops in to the studio to talk about his career and the future of Deaf talent.

The red carpet is rolled out and Nikki Stratton and Marilyn Willrich, founders of DeafFest, join Julian and Kori in the studio to discuss how it has helped develop Deaf film in the UK. The team also watch some of the comedy series Fingerspellers.
