Documentary narrated by Stephen Tompkinson, going behind the scenes of Wild at Heart as he introduces us to the animals and their handlers and gives an insider's view as to how some of the series biggest animal stunts are achieved, such as a lion chase across a river. Featuring unseen footage and revealing how real life emergencies are dealt with in the unpredictable world of filming with animals.

Danny is having second thoughts about the wisdom of uprooting his new family and ploughing all their money into a business venture they know next to nothing about, while Rosie thinks he's mad to sign a contract that will commit them to Du Plessis and Africa for the foreseeable future.

The arrival of Evan and Olivia's father throws the family into turmoil. He is determined to take his kids back to England with him and threatens to go to court to get custody. Sarah is furious - he wasn't thinking of them when he left her for his secretary. Rosie can't hide her delight that they might all be going home, but when a drunken fight breaks out in a bar, she is rescued by Tate.

Rosie decides that she's had enough and is going back to Bristol. Thanks to Evan, Danny botches an attempt to shoot a lioness with a tranquilliser dart. When he and Du Plessis try to track her, their truck hits a termite mound and overturns - trapping Anders underneath. A resentful Evan runs away, taking Olivia with him. They head off into the bush, unaware that they are being stalked by the lioness.

A massage mix-up leaves Rosie thinking Sarah and Tate are romantically involved. Meanwhile, the first paying guests to arrive at Leopard's Den, the Chapman family, are not impressed on their arrival, and things get steadily worse when the generator breaks down. The devious Tate has engineered the situation deliberately, and made sure their diesel delivery didn't arrive.

Danny is concerned that poachers may be in the area and when he finds one of his zebras has been killed, he and Du Plessis stake out the grazing area. They find more dead animals, but these were not killed by poachers. Tests reveal anthrax is the cause and Danny imposes a quarantine on Leopard's Den. Elsewhere, Sarah is upset by her friend Izzy and goes looking for a missing lion cub, but she collapses.
