Raúl Castillo

Raúl Castillo, Jr. was born in McAllen, TX. Castillo developed an interest in performance at a young age, and first pursued it properly by way of his high school's theater club. After graduating from Boston University in 1999, Castillo made his stage debut with an Austin, TX-based production of "Santos & Santos." Two years later, Castillo moved to New York City, after which point he began accumulating stage credits, beginning with "School of the Americas" in 2006. The following year, Castillo made his feature film debut with the drama "Amexicano" (2007). Over the years to follow, Castillo balanced screen and stage work, namely the comedy-drama "Cold Weather" (2010) and the Philip Seymour Hoffman-directed "Jesus Hopped the 'A' Train" in 2012. In 2014, Castillo began starring in the dramedy series "Looking" (HBO 2014-15), playing the character Richie, a barber who becomes romantically entwined with series star Jonathan Groff's character Patrick. After the cancelation of "Looking," Castillo landed regular parts in the comedy series "Atypical" (Netflix 2017-) and the crime anthology series "Seven Seconds" (Netflix 2018-).
