Zackary Momoh

Nigerian-British actor Zackary Momoh had already conquered the British stage when he opted to become an in-demand screen actor as well. Though he was always interested in performing, Momoh was studying business marketing in college when he began taking acting classes at Identity Drama School of Acting twice a week. There, Momoh honed his skills and cemented his commitment to the acting craft, eventually signing with an agent and switching career directions in earnest. Momoh landed his first TV role with a minor appearance on "Holby City" (BBC, 1999-) in 2011, though his focus for a long while would remain on stage. He had been performing "Othello" in a small South London theater when he was scouted to become Adrien Lester's understudy in a prestigious production of the same play at the National Theatre in 2013. He next starred in the National Theatre's "From Morning to Midnight" before starring with Robert Sean Leonard in "To Kill a Mockingbird" at the Barbican in 2015. Around this time however, Momoh decided that he wanted to more solidly pursue a career on screen-a goal he did not feel he would accomplish if he continued to pour his effort into stage roles. He placed a moratorium on taking on new theater work in favor of auditioning for film and TV roles, soon landing the recurring role of Manni on "No Offense" (Channel 4, 2015-). In 2018, Momoh made the leap to American productions, starring on the intense Netflix series "Seven Seconds" (Netflix, 2018-2018), a drama about racial tensions between civilians and police. He went on to appear in the action drama "The Kill Team" (2019) alongside Alexander Skarsgard as well as in the Harriet Taubman biopic "Harriet" (2019) before joining the cast of the hotly anticipated Joss Whedon series "The Nevers" (HBO, 2020-).
