Dr. Kelso interrogates the group about the unexplained death of a patient -- Jason Bateman guest stars -- J.D. (Zach Braff), Turk (Donald Faison), Elliot (Sarah Chalke) and Carla (Judy Reyes) are asked to recount the past weeks events during and interrogation surrounding the mysterious death of a patient. But Dr. Kelso (Ken Jenkins) will find it hard to pin point neglect when he learns that J.D. and Turk were away tracking down a patient (guest star Jason Bateman, ""Arrested Development"") to illicit a thank you, Elliot was traumatized over finding out that her make-out buddy was married and Carla was busy recruiting hospital personal for a group lottery purchase. John C. McGinley and Neil Flynn also star.

After Mulder is put to rest the body of an alien abductee comes back to life, giving Scully and Skinner cause for hope.

Elliot tries again to find a balance between dating and her career, as Carla and Turk move forward with their wedding plans, J.D. feels as though he is losing a friend. -- When Carla (Judy Reyes) and Turk (Donald Faison) set the date for the wedding, JD (Zach Braff) realizes this is the end of an era in their friendship, but his efforts to celebrate this milestone are rebuffed by Turk. Elliot (Sarah Chalke) is determined to win back her old boyfriend Sean (guest star Scott Foley, "Felicity"), but is again faced with tough choices between a relationship and her career.

Three days before Christmas the body of a bearded man in a tailor-made Santa outfit turns up in a sewer; Brennan visits her father in prison and plots a nontraditional holiday reunion.
