Marina Benedict

Professional choreographer and actress Marina Benedict got the chance to showcase her two major talents in sitcom "Nikki" (The WB, 2000-02) and acclaimed miniseries "Flesh and Bone" (Starz, 2015), and also enjoyed recurring roles in "Torchwood" (BBC Three, 2006-2011) and "Prison Break" (Fox, 2005-). Benedict began her showbiz career aged seven in a touring production of "Peace Child" and after graduating from the Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle she joined late '90s pop group 5 NY. The boy/girl quintet scored a Top 100 hit in Germany and released an album, Destynation, but split just one year after forming. Benedict made her screen debut in an episode of Kevin Williamson's short-lived "Wasteland" (ABC, 1999) and a year later landed the role of Las Vegas dancer Rachel in Nikki Cox's eponymous star vehicle. Benedict would guest on numerous ratings hits throughout the decade, including "Without a Trace" (CBS, 2002-09), "ER" (NBC, 1994-2009) and "Southland" (NBC, 2009-2013) while simultaneously serving as an instructor at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. In 2011, Benedict landed her most challenging acting role when she played deceitful CIA mole Charlotte Wills in five episodes of "Miracle Day," the fourth season of sci-fi spin-off "Torchwood" (BBC Three, 2006-2011). Following one-off appearances in the likes of "True Blood" (HBO, 2008-2014), "Burn Notice" (USA Network, 2007-2013) and "Bones" (Fox, 2005-), Benedict made it onto the big screen in the horror anthology "Locker 13" (2014) and a year later was cast as the American Ballet Company's edgy new choreographer Toni Cannava in the Golden Globe-nominated "Flesh and Bone" (Starz, 2015). Benedict then starred alongside her husband Marty Papazian in his second directorial feature "Losing in Love," a romantic comedy in which a heartbroken waitress and struggling writer restore each other's faith in love, and joined the cast of the "Prison Break" (Fox, 2005-09) reboot as crazed villainess A&W.
