An orb is cast unto Earth. It morphs to a boy, Fushi. His eternal quest, bearing the pain of living with the fortitude of someone who chooses his own path.

An otherworldly orb transforms to match its surrounding environment: from moss to a wolf; the wolf retunites with a boy, who lives alone in a snow covered village.
EPISODE 2
A Rambunctious Girl
The orb, having morphed into a boy, finds its way to Ninanna, where he is attacked; he is discovered by a girl, March, who may not achieve her goal of becoming a grown-up.
EPISODE 3
A Small Evolution
March is escorted to the altar to be sacrificed to Oniguma.
EPISODE 4
A Large Vessel
Hayase escorts March, Parona, and Fushi on a long ride to Yanome; Hayase slips them sleeping drugs.

Those Who Follow
March sacrifices her life to save Parona; Yanome soldiers want to capture Fushi.

Fushi meets the elder Pioran; A mysterious creature steals Fushi's memories.
