Emory Parnell

Emory Parnell was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. Parnell started his acting career landing roles in such films as "Arson Gang Busters" (1938), "King of Alcatraz" (1938) and "Call of the Yukon" (1939). He also appeared in the musical "The Star Maker" (1939) with Bing Crosby, "Pacific Liner" (1939) and "If I Had My Way" (1940). He continued to work steadily in film throughout the forties, appearing in "The Falcon in Hollywood" (1944), the mystery "Tall in the Saddle" (1944) with John Wayne and the comedy "The Miracle of Morgan's Creek" (1944) with Eddie Bracken. He also appeared in the Tom Conway mystery "The Falcon in Mexico" (1944). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in the action flick "To Please a Lady" (1950) with Clark Gable, the historical film "Golden Girl" (1951) with Mitzi Gaynor and "When in Rome" (1952) with Van Johnson. He also appeared in the Bud Abbott comedy "Lost in Alaska" (1952) and the western "The Lawless Breed" (1953) with Rock Hudson. Parnell more recently acted in "The Bounty Killer" (1965). Parnell passed away in June 1979 at the age of 87.
