Erin Bethea

Recently seen in two productions from the Albany, Georgia-based Baptist film studio Sherwood Pictures, Erin Bethea studied theater at the University of Mobile, in Alabama. Professionally, Bethea performed in a wide variety of regional theater productions, including playing Dolly Tate (Frank Butler's Wild West show assistant) in "Annie Get Your Gun," and Juliet in a spoof of the Bard's plays, "The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged)." She played Thelma, the solo traveler who crosses paths with the elderly Carrie Watts in Horton Foote's "The Trip to Bountiful," as well as Babe, the leader of the striking workers in "The Pajama Game," the role played by Doris Day in the 1957 movie. She's also a contracted actress at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida. While in college, she made an appearance as a sports commentator in "Facing the Giants," Alex Kendrick's second feature for Sherwood Pictures. Two years later, she landed the lead in Kendrick's 2008 "Fireproof," as the neglected, troubled wife of Caleb Holt (Kirk Cameron). Her role in the movie brought her into the spotlight of American faith-oriented productions; in 2009, she was invited to host the FamilyNet original series "OMX: On Mission Xtra," which spotlights the work of missionaries who bring gospel to different parts of North America.
