Seishu exiles himself to a small island to recapture his passion for calligraphy after an unpleasant encounter with a critic. While this island hideaway appears to be a tranquil paradise, there are many surprises in store for the young artist.

After an embarrassing public incident, a calligrapher sets off for an island in the country. There, he meets a young girl who introduces him to a world he has never seen before.

Handa just wants to work on his calligraphy, but the carefree residents of the island have other ideas — which ends up putting him in the hospital!
EPISODE 3
Hitonmochi
Handa submits his latest piece of calligraphy to an exhibition, only to be awarded a "disappointing" second place. Meanwhile, daily life on the island continues.
EPISODE 4
Shiman Ontsuandon
Miwa’s father strong-arms Handa into writing the name on his ship; in the process, Handa gains a new perspective on his approach to calligraphy.
EPISODE 5
Unnioegi
With the next exhibition closing in, Handa is asked to take the kids swimming, where he finds out that there's more to life than just calligraphy.
EPISODE 6
Yosonmon
An unexpected guest named Kanzaki arrives to throw Handa for a loop; Handa’s response is informed by his time with the people of the island.
