Frank DeKova

Frank DeKova was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. DeKova began his acting career with roles in such films as the Marlon Brando biographical drama "Viva Zapata!" (1952), the Gig Young drama "Holiday For Sinners" (1952) and "Split Second" (1953). He also appeared in "The Desert Song" (1953) with Kathryn Grayson, "Arrowhead" (1953) and "All the Brothers Were Valiant" (1953). He continued to act in productions like "The Lone Ranger" (1956), "The Ten Commandments" (1956) and the western "Run of the Arrow" (1957) with Rod Steiger. He also appeared in the Rory Calhoun adaptation "Ride Out For Revenge" (1957). In the latter part of his career, he tackled roles in "Portrait of a Mobster" (1961), the Elvis Presley comedy adaptation "Follow That Dream" (1962) and the Brian Keith adaptation "Those Calloways" (1964). He also appeared in the drama "The Greatest Story Ever Told" (1965) with Max von Sydow and "The Wild Country" (1970) with Steve Forrest. DeKova last acted in the Ron Thompson animated film "American Pop" (1981). DeKova passed away in October 1981 at the age of 71.
