Sam Behrens

Sam Behrens was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. In 1983, he played Jake Meyer on the ABC daytime serial "General Hospital." Behrens began his acting career with roles in the series "The Young and the Restless" (1972-2015), "Ryan's Hope" (ABC, 1974-1989) and "Knots Landing" (CBS, 1979-1993). He also appeared in "Murder, She Wrote" (CBS, 1984-1996). In the beginning of his Hollywood career, Behrens acted in films like "Murder By Numbers" (1990). He also starred in the TV movies "Uncut Gem" (TBS, 1989-1990) and "Unspeakable Acts" (ABC, 1989-1990). He continued to work steadily in television throughout the nineties, appearing on "Homefront" (ABC, 1991-93) and "Viper" (1993-99). His work around this time also included a part on the TV movie "Shadow of Obsession" (NBC, 1993-94). He next focused his entertainment career on film, appearing in the comedy "American Blue Note" (1991) with Peter MacNicol, the comedic fantasy "And You Thought Your Parents Were Weird" (1991) with Marcia Strassman and the adventurous drama "Alive" (1993) with Ethan Hawke. He also played parts in television during these years, including roles in "Homefront" (ABC, 1991-93) and "Viper" (1993-99). More recently, he tackled roles on "Sunset Beach" (NBC, 1996-2000) and "The Closer" (TNT, 2004-2011). Additionally, he appeared on the television special "An All Star Party For Aaron Spelling" (ABC, 1997-98). Behrens most recently worked on "Wristcutters: A Love Story" (2007) with Patrick Fugit. Behrens was married to Dale Kristien.
