Ed Stafford's Rite of Passage

Ed visits the Hamar cattle herders of Ethiopia to witness a unique rite of passage. The tribe's young men must successfully jump over a line of bulls to earn their status and be recognised as men.

In Brazil, Ed endures the painful bullet-ant ceremony. Also facing 24 hours of agony are the Brazilian boys who do this 20 times to become men.

Ed meets the Hadzabe of Tanzania, who live in balance with their environment, including collecting honey from the world's most aggressive bees.

In Mongolia, Ed must wrestle the giant heirs of Genghis Khan to become a man. He takes part in the annual rite of passage festival, Naadam.
