Marcial Maciel: The Wolf of God

In Mexico, seminary student Marcial Maciel founds the Legionaries of Christ, an organisation quickly embroiled in controversy.

In 1950, Maciel turned his focus to the Vatican and perpetuated his sexual abuse and addiction. The Catholic Church subsequently launched an investigation that led him to create new rules to silence his followers.

After decades of lavish living with little oversight from the Vatican, a 1997 exposé sheds light on Maciel's history of child sexual abuse.

As reports of child sexual abuse and the death of John Paul II rock the Catholic Church, Maciel's global empire begins to crumble.
